I have not posted in a good while. I have been busy and out of town off and on. I had my Maze one year ago this month at Texas Heart Institute, Houston.
I have not had any A-Fib or flutter. I have been off coumidin since May 02. As some of you know I had PVC's and bigeminal beats after the surgey. I still have them. They happen about everyday but seem to be less of a problem . I notice them more after meals, bending over and setting. I take a small amount of Tambacor at times if they really bother me. Tried the beta blockers but as I healed my heart rate came back to a more normal 65-70 beats per minute and the blockers really slow my heart rate.It has been great not to have to worry about A-Fib. and not knowing when an episode will happen. I don't worry about going on trips or planning activities as I used to when I had A- Fib.
My local cardiologist just tells me to come back every 6 months and check in. I will go to Houston next month for one year follow up .
Again thanks to everyone on the board for your advice, support and prayers.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
