You would think it would be a difference in anticoagulation, but there was atually no difference in stroke incidence between the two groups, and strokes almost always occured in patients either not taking coumadin, or who had sub-therapeutic INRs.
The authors themselves in their discussion state that these results are not genreralizable to younger patients, or to patients with lone atrial fibrillation.
