Pacemaker removed

On Monday I had my dual-site atrial pacemaker removed. It's been basically turned off since July, but it has been annoying under a backpack, even with a foam donut, and it caused a couple of other undesireable problems. It also remained as a symbolic reminder of the ineffectual pre-maze efforts to relieve me of afibs, and for all these reasons I'm very happy that it's gone and that I've moved into the world of continuous NSR. I've offered it to a program for dogs who can benefit from pacemakers. Let's hope that it can improve the life of a deserving dog.
