If exercise caused A-Fib it would be an established medical fact by now, it seems to me. For everyone who regularly exercises who has A-Fib there are thousands of aerobic exercisers that do not have A-Fib.
There is some flaw in the heart tissue of the atria that is responsible for A-Fib (purely a layman's explanation). The main cause for this "flaw" is simply aging and/or heredity and of course the medical conditions Steve mentioned. I had a doctor tell me once "just as you skin ages...and this is self evident...so does other tissues in the body including the heart." The main point here...keep exercising the heart will thank you.
