John: Your reply to Dan really reminded me of how desperate I was pre-maze. I KNEW I could not go on with such a debilitating lifestyle and having found the AF Page, a couple of others, and then Jack Drum's page really got me excited. Like you, I believe, I dragged my wife to the computer, with tears of joy every time I saw a post or received a personal email from a "mazer". I just couldn't believe, nor will I ever forget the encouragement I received from Jim Pope, Jack Drum, SuLynn Mester,Tom Glass,Tom Meyer,Karl Wickstrom, Anders Kingstedt, Ed Wehan (who bravely went a week before me), and others I have probably forgotten at the moment.
I remember you telling me the night before your surgery that you wanted to "run from the hospital, as far as possible", but you were tethered to oxygen and didn't have the "strength". I sure understood your feelings, and like you, I would have an annual maze if it was necessary, to experience the joy of a new life, free of afib and drugs!
Thanks again to all of the above folks and others I might have forgotten for the moment. A special thanks again to Jack for stumbling ahead and creating this site. I am certain that the many dozens of cured afibbers who have benefited from finding his page (enhanced by you, John)and subsequently had Maze or ablation procedures will always have a special place in their hearts for him.
