Mild TR is very common in people over the age of 50 or so. It isn't of any functional significance. (The tricuspid valve is the valave between the right atrium and the right ventricle) If you have moderate or greater TR, you should be prophylaxed for dental procedures with 2 grams of amoxicillin one hour prior to the procedure. Otherwise, not much to worry about. I have mild-moderate TR, and my functional status is just fine.
