It was a pleasure to meet you too. I was under the impression that if these ablations did not work then the maze was still an option. Before I found out that Dr. McCarthy did not feel the maze was appropriate with all my other problems and previous open heart I was pretty much set on the maze. Although, my wise ole' father was very pro ablation being that I had 4 previous and the recovery was much easier compared to my open heart.
The choice is yours of course, but you saw me the night of the procedure that time after my open heart I still had the breathing tube in place. So... not to be negative about open heart because everyone is different. Plus, after open heart your family gets a phone call where as after an ablation the doc will take the time to talk. All this was brought to my attention by my wonderful father so I thought I would pass it on to you.

This stuff is very mentally exhausting, I hope you still are able to do some of the things you used to enjoy before afib.
