While I never tried giving up on the drugs and being in afib all the time, it might have been a better choice than all the drugs I tried and still was in afib perhaps 75% of the time.

Your comment that "it was not as bad as I anticipated" pretty well echos the opinion of most of us. I, for one would do it again for the wonderful feeling of wellbeing I have in NSR with no drugs!

You were very fortunate to at least have a doctor who even presented the maze as an option. Did he/she suggest Dr. Millar, or did you find out about him and LDS Hospital on your own? I am glad to know that he is still doing the "open-chest" routine and has not succombed to the pressure for less invasive, more discomfort to the patient procedures, but that is simply MY opinion.

I hope you will continue to participate and provide insight to others who might post questions in the future, as well as continuing to post periodic updates on how you are doing.
