I had a gall bladder attack several months ago. The term the doctor used was sludge in the gall bladder and my family promptly started calling me their sludge-muffin. (I bear no resemblance to a muffin.) The gall bladder was removed with laparoscopic surgery. My post MAZE heart tolerated the surgery well. In two weeks time you don't feel like you had an operation. If you can, go the laparoscopic route.
