I would love to join you all, but you will have to guarantee a safe route to my wife. I rode for about 10 years after cutting back on running in my mid-thirties. I had a series of accidents in rapid succession. In the last, I went over a large bump, while looking down at my new speedometer to see how fast I was going (28 mph, the last thing I remember). From descriptions others, I did a looping backwards 180, landing on my head and shoulders, splitting my helmet and knocking myself out (yes, I rode home).

That's why I switched to rowing. Like my wife says, "You can't kill yourself falling out of a boat".
