SuLynn, I am glad Randys' AF is taken care of, but sorry to hear about his valve problem. I have never heard anyone say anything about the maze causing a valve problem. I have read many letters from maze patients and some of them do have some complications after the maze, but usually they are short term, but none has ever mentioned to me about a valve problem after. They do correct a lot of valve problems at the same time that the do the maze, when the patient was having the valve problem prior. I have never heard of it in medical papers that I have read, but like anyone else, I think surgeons don't always tell the adverse effects of a surgery.
If I can find anything about this I will let you know.
