He is listed among the Maze Surgeons at the top of this web page. As some of us have found, there are some very talented, dedicated surgeons in places we might consider remote right here in the US, who are doing great things with the Maze. It should be no different in Australia, as only the best surgeons tackle this procedure.
As to your question re: wine, I am not sure if you mean now or the night before your maze. I would PERSONALLY say to do whatever you have been doing unless wine is always a "trigger" for afib. If it helps you to relax and doesn't represent a big afib problem, it probably can't hurt. The best person to answer this question however, would be your doctor or surgeon, since you are probably already going off any anti-arrhythmic meds and may be more sensitive to alcohol as a trigger.
