I just spoke with John (9:15AM MDT)and he has been in SR since his open chest Maze. The first day was pretty uncomfortable, but he is up walking and feeling better as time passes. His administrator of his thestatus.com page has not been able to reach his wife's cell phone in the hospital to get updates to post.
It would certainly appear that John is "out of the woods" and will soon be an excellent "success story". By next ski season, he will probably be standing in line waiting to be the first up the lift.
