I was diagnosed with AF on April 29th 1985. After various efforts to resolve this, I was left with no real options. I then decided to study the problem in depth in order to maximize the possibilities of a cure. I did not want to spend the rest of my life in AF for a number of reasons. A frien Dr. Michalis Minas, kindly loaned to me a number of publications that dealt with antiarrhythmic therapies and various other realted topics. In one of these, "Chronic Antiarrhythmic Therapy", a publication of various articles presented at a symposium sponsored by the European Society of Cardiology, and supported by ASTRA Cardiovascular, there was an article that struck me as being the best lead to follow up. This was" Current status of the surgical treatment of cardiac arrhythmias" by James L Cox and John J Gallagher. The rest was quite simple. I just had to find Dr James L Cox and in fact spoke with him the same day.
