Scott I hate to hear of someone that long out of surgery and still having AF, but some of the people recently has been doing this. Most of them usually end up maintaining a NSR. There are some on the board that has jumped in and out of AF for some time and I am sure you will be hearing from them.
I am probably prejudice but I think the people like me that had the cut and sew, compared to the RF, or Cryo surgical lesions in the heart come out with a cleaner and quicker cure. I know a lot of the surgeons are going to the cryo surgical procedure, and I guess is much easier. The surgeon that did mine used a little cryo tenique but the majority was cut and sew. With the cryo tenique there is less chance of having to go back in for bleeding.
Best wishes and prayers, and keep us updated on how you are comming along.
