Scott - do not be discouraged. My husband Paul who had his maze at CCF in June of 2000 continued having some afib until January of this year. So he was unable to stop all medication until 7 months after surgery. The good news is that he has had no problems since January and even had his pacemaker taken out a few weeks ago. (The pacemaker had been necessary because of the high dosage of Sotalol he had been taking.) So hang in there!
