Good to hear that you're doing well. The problems you had early in your recovery certainly reflect your hearts manner of healing. Everyone seems to heal differently ..... but the feeling of AFIB free is amazing. I am 2 years post maze (also Dr McCarthy) and feel super. My heart rate also seemed to be high for the first 6 months post maze (mid 90's) MY cardiologist put me on Toprol and it seemed to keep it under 90. Today I am on Lipitor 10 mg and Norvasc 5 mg and heart rate is 55-60 bpm and NSR. The dwell you see post exercise will come back to normal in a few more months. Great to hear more and more about the success of the maze.
