Steve: Thanks for the great info and superb web site link, which I have "bookmarked". Having just spent a couple hours barely touching on all the info and links at this site, I am astounded and embarassed about how little I knew some 10-12 years ago when I was at my peak performance. I guess the science of exercise physiology has improved some during my absence from the competitive exercise scene.
I have new goals, which are probably more realistic given the ground I lost over the years of afib and drugs. (I still WANT to make my good friend, a non-maze believer/cardiologist, and former triathlon training partner, hurt during bike rides, which may never happen, but it is a "dream" goal).
