I was in chronic AF for years before the operation, so the difference between pre maze and post maze was very pronounced. Where before, I would whitewater kayak a few times a year, this year I got in a dozen days. I just got back from doing a Class IV/V river that I hadn't done in 15 years! My son reported to me that he saw me flying vertically through the air in one particularly big set of rapids. My heart was not a weak point here. Enjoying life a lot more now. Maze done 4/24/01.
