...... and to Carl, first it was great to hear from you when you were planning the possible reunion with Dr. Cox and I can only echo your sentiments for this truly magnificent pioneer. After battling Afib for more the 5 years I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr Cox in January 2000 and was scheduled for my MAZE in May of that year. A truly fascinating individual who patiently spent time with me to review the procedure and go over the pros and cons (which most of us are aware are minor). Unfortunately he developed his own medical problems and referred me to Dr McCarthy at the Cleveland Clinic. Thanx to Dr Cox' procedure and Dr McCarthy's skills I have been Afib free since June 2000. My lifestyle is better then ever. Golf every week, cycling, lifting and in general enjoying my second chance at living. I was also very fortunate to have a cardiologist who believed in this "controversial" procedure and referred me to Dr Cox. I hope Dr Cox is well and I look forward to being able to shake his hand again and thank him personally for giving my life back to me. God bless you.
