I know many of you have followed my progress since my Maze August 13, 2001. To make a long story short, I have been on a roller coaster these past 10 months - going a month at a time in NSR and then being hit with bouts of A fib/flutter. My last stretch of time without any problems was two months. I had been taken off amiodarone, and put on flecainide and as I tried to taper off this drug, I was once again back in A fib/flutter. My EP has suggested an A fib ablation. In the meantime, I am back on flecainide and hopefully in the future I will be able to undergo this procedure. Dr. Natale is booked out for a year, and since I didn't have my Maze at the CC, I would be far down on their waiting list. However, my EP is working for me, and it will happen eventually. I am encouraged by Henry Alkin's post and others who have undergone post Maze ablation. In the meantime, at least I'm not on amiodarone!
