This is my first posting to this board since having the MAZE by Dr. Mc Carthy at the CC in October 2001. Things went well until about 6 months out at which time I started to experience a-fib or flutter which has become more and more frequent over time. My problem has been with follow up care by the cardiologists here in the St. Louis area. I have become convinced they don't have the knowledge nor the desire to learn how to handle a post-maze patient. I just finished reading the experiences of Jim Roff, Henry Alken, and Roger Meyer and that prompted me to call Dr. Hammer for his recommendation. We are currently in the process of scheduling at the CC again for evaluation. I assume that ablation is an option after Dr. Hammer suggested I come back to Cleveland but the final recommendation is to be determined. I appreciate the input from those who have experienced problems and they have influenced my decision to pursue this further. Keep up the good work. Lloyd Livingston
