The Atrial Flutter ablation I had last Friday, 14 June, 2001 was a success!
I now have "P" waves - lots of them!
When I went into the EP lab for the procedure, my pulse rate was 150 bpm. When I came out, it was 65 bpm.
This is the third day since the op. I went jogging last night for the first time in almost a year. I am off all meds (except Coumadin for six months). No more Rythmol and Toprol. I feel like I have all kinds of energy - I don't feel like napping in the middle of the afternoon. I am sleeping long hours at night and I am not eating as much during the day.
I want to thank Jack, Steve, Carl, Ed, Bill, Thomas and the many others who encouraged me with their emails not to quit and to go for the ablation. I especially want to thank Angie for her email that pushed me to call CCF for an appointment.
It's so good to feel good.
I will make some more posts about the procedure, the talk I had with Dr Schweikert, and a EKG attachment for the PC that lets you take your own EKGs. I hope these posts will be helpful.
Best wishes to everyone,
Henry
