After talking to my surgeon, I was totally at ease with the decision to have the Maze done on April 25,2002. My doctor in Pittsburgh said I would die on the table if I had the operation. I don't know if that cardiologist has pulled his head out of the sand yet. After getting rid of the afib, the healing is easy to get through. I haven't felt this good for years. It's your decision but I don't regret my choice to have the operation at all. Good luck to you.
