Dee: I am not aware of anyone posting here who has had the maze at Northwestern, but perhaps if you post the name of your surgeon, someone might recognize the name.
He/she could be a "visiting" surgeon, or even another to add to the "Maze Surgeons" button at the top of the web page.
As you have probably read here, a number of "mazers" have had mitral valves replaced/repaired and had the "maze" as well. You are fortunate to have a doctor who is recommending that you get the maze at the same time.

In a couple of months, you will be enjoying a new, afib-free life. Keep us updated.
