Bob: It sounds as though you are doing great. As far as the weight loss goes, many of us gained "water weight" after surgery, and were put on diuretics to eliminate this problem. I lost about 12-15 pounds starting with about 4-5 days post-maze. Subsequently, I have lost (with considerable effort), another 18 pounds, but would like to lose another 20 or so, to get back to my triathlon weight of 12 years ago. If you are taking diuretics, you can expect (and should welcome) a weight loss.
