Carl, I was on 600 mg of Rythmol (300 am &300 pm) for A-fib prior to my Maze. This dosage has been continued both in the hospital and now at home post Maze. Dr. Millar, my Maze surgeon, wants me to stay on this dosage for 6 weeks after the surgery ( just less than 2 more weeks now), and then go to half this amount (150 mg in the am & 150 mg in the pm). Then at 8 weeks post op, quit the Rythmol entirely if there is no more tachycardia. I believe there will be no more fast heart beats or whatever they were after the 8 weeks are up, as I have not been feeling any symptoms the past few days of any irregularity in my heart. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I (and Dr. Millar) are right. Don
