I had my maze on Mar. 29 from McCarthy. At that time he told me that after the maze it was 98% certain that the afib would be cured. There was that 2% chance that I could still have flutter, but if that happened he said it was a simple fix via ablation to cure the flutter - and that they knew where to look for the foci problem. From what I've been told, I think you can look forward to a complete cure this time without all the risk that afib ablation brings. Good luck!
