I just received a phone call from Dr. McCarthy's office for my 12 week maze follow-up. I mention this as I know that many of us have expressed some frustration in the past.
I was asked a number of questions regarding my recovery. She was also going to call my cardiologist for a copy of my last EKG. She also said that I would be receiving a call from her yearly.
Debbie (her name, obviously) said that her follow-up has indicated very good results for those having the less invasive sternum procedure which is what I had. I am sorry that I didn't have the presence of mind to get more stats from her. I was dripping wet after having jumped out of the shower to answer the phone.
If someone else gets called, maybe they can get more specific stats on success rates.
