Teri:

I had my MAZE at the Cleveland Clinic in August 2000...and have been in NSR since discharge which was 2 weeks post op. I can only echo the other responses to your story, and I really regret not knowing about the MAZE sooner. I had the condition for about 15 years...the last 5 being very disruptive to maintaining a normal, very active life-style. It got the point, where I had 'hit the wall' and although the thought of surgery was DAUNTING...the fear of not having it was so very depressing considering that my quality of life was deteriorating weekly.

As you have probably gathered from other posts, each of us have had 'bumps' in the road along the way after surgery. But, those few days of discomfort and nerves, etc are but a distant, fleeting memory-- the price is miniscule when weighed against the freedom of being in NSR!!
