Teri: I agree with Thomas and Ed. If your husband is very active, he should just get it done ASAP, so he can enjoy summer in MN. By the end of June, he could be doing most anything he wants to do, WITHOUT afib. Ed is pretty modest about what he was doing in 8 weeks or so, but it was certainly pretty active, and he was 57.
If only I had known earlier of others who had been through the Maze, I would have surely done it sooner, but since I am now cured of afib, I can only express the same to other afib sufferers: there is nothing to be gained by waiting, because afib is not going to "go away".
It sounds like he is in capable hands with his doctors. God only knows that I would have like to have had them when I was looking for answers.
