Today is one year for me. Have to head to SLC tomorrow and am going to have a gift in hands for my doctor. For me, I think that is how I will celebrate my MAZE "re-birthday" each year.
No amount of stress, illness, exercise or exhaustion seems to be able to cause Atrial Fibrillation. I used to be obsessed with the cause. Diet? Stress? Lack of exercise? Emotional causes? Heredity?
Who cares.
Now all those things are important and may help me with my back or Fibryomalgia problems, etc. - but the biggest one is solved. What a blessing to have a chance at life again and a heart that works.
Tomorrow we buy a family season pass at the local ski resort and I plan to fire up the Goldwing and next week the dirt bike.
With all of my heart and soul, I thank you Jack, Jim Pope, Carl and others that helped me make one of the best decisions of my life. Dr. Millar - thank you for being a skillful and caring surgeon.
Sorry I've been so non-participatory here at the newsgroup. I've been busy with daily treatments that may provide a cure for my lower back. I'm about half way through and about half the pain and immobility is gone. Another internet miracle if it works. I was ready for surgery and had to cancel due to the death of my mother. I was reluctant to reschedule and wanted to read up more on the surgery. Typing in "Back Surgery" into the search engine led to a www.vax-d.com site with a table built to cure many of the lower back problems that lead to surgery.
I'll report back on the results in case there are any here with disc problems that may want to look at an alternative to surgery. Here's the link if anyone is in that situation.
