I took Dale in to the Emergency room at the Cleveland clinic about the excess pain in his breast-bone area. The ER doctor was very nice and he thought is was scar tissue, but it really wasn't his field of expertise. So we insisted on seeing SOMEBODY from the cardio surgery department. After a almost 4 hour wait, Dr.Youseff, the closing Dr. for Dr Pat McCarthy, came in to look at Dale---the blood pressure is great, lungs are fine, incision is perfect, x-ray of lungs is great, and no infection at all. He said after pressing on the incision (and Dale feeling even more pain), he said that it was bone-pain, and was unusual, but to hang in there and be patient. Today the pain (only when he breaths deep or moves much) has gone from the "ice-pick" level to a much duller pain. Hopefully he is starting around "the-corner" with the healing process. He is kinda of weak from sitting so much, but was forced to because of the pain when he moved. Dr.Yuseff said that this is unsual, but different post-op symptoms occur is different people, and to be patient. It is hard to see Dale sitting around as he was always SOOOOO active. Actually he had so much energy, he would drive me "NUTS". Here's hoping that the pain is going bye-bye! Best regards to all and thanks for this great web site. Lee Finley, wife of Dale Finley
