I think you are correct, and Dr.Thomas H. Lee's explanation of the events contributing to "Lone" or primary atrial fibrillation where no identifiable cause or associated abnormalities of the heart exists, (although not universal), is becoming the standard belief by most.
It sure seems that many cases point in that direction. I am one of the exception to the rule. My AF started as a teenager for no apparent reason. I was very active but not a extreme athlete in any respect.
I am also coming up on my 4 year anniversary. Mine will be April 10. What date did you have your surgery? Looks like we need to CELEBRATE.
