Carol, I wish I had some background on your surgeon, but I don't have anything. I do feel that any surgeon that undertakes the maze procedure are from the best of the cardiac surgeons.
I wouldn't classify you as a guinea pig, as this has been done in several other places. I don't have much information as to the effectiveness of a cryo maze in this manner. It probably will be less trauma on the heart than the type that I had.
You can't really imagine the change of your life after a successful maze, when you are in NSR and get your strength and stamina back. You soon forget the old shortness of breath and weakness that you are now experiencing.
