I JUST GOT THIS UPDATE FROM THE STATUS.COM SITE

27-Mar-02 02:48 PM from Michelle: I just spoke to the surgeon! I can't believe the surrgery is complete, already! The timeline went like this:
At 10:21AM the opening team started the surgery.
At 12:28 PM Troy went on the bypass machine.
At 1:50 PM I spoke to the surgeon, which means that the surgery is complete and the closing team is closing.

Dr. McCarthy said that the surgery went well with no complications. No valve repair was necessary, so only the Maze was done.

Some other great news: Troy is in sinus rhythm, already. He was in a-fib when he went into surgery and they did not cardiovert him. He converted into sinus, from the maze. There is still a 30% chance that a-fib will return in the next 6 weeks, until scar tissue builds up, but I am taking this as a sign that it will not return.

Thanks so much for all of your messages and support. I can't tell you how much it means to Troy and I to see your words of encouragement and your prayers.

With a little help from God, Troy might have his old life back.
