I would like to third the comments on undertaking the 1600 miles drive. First, the drive out will get you to Cleveland tired. You will already have enough on you mind and dwelling on the process during 32+ driving hours is tough. Second, on your ride home you will need to stop ever 90 minutes or so to walk around and make sure the blood is flowing in your legs and other important parts to reduce the risk of clots. They are really serious about the rest stops. Even with the matress in the Sub you would feel like a whipped puppy that had also been beaten by the time you got home. My drive home was a little less than three hours and I was a happy camper that it wasn't any longer. I had my MAZE along with a mitral valve repair 8/21/01. Good luck and God speed with your surgery.
