Mary: It is good to hear from another relatively long-term "mazer", and to know that it changed your quality of life for the better.

It would be nice if you posted some background: age (if you like), type of heart disease, how long you had afib prior to maze and what other treatments you went through before going the maze route. This would help others (particularily ladies) who might be debating what to do. Having it done over 4 years ago puts you among the earlier patients, since 100s have been done since then.

It is also great to know of another maze surgeon. Do you know if he is still doing the maze? Any info you can contribute now or periodically when you see a question you think you can help someone with, would be appreciated.
