My husband has had atrial fibrillation for 8 years. He also had congestive heart failure in 1997 and he has cardiomyopathy. He has been on different drugs and now has an ICD AMD7250. He currently is on avapro, sotolol,coumadin, metropolol. Nothing seems to help. His Dr. said something need to be done. He suggested surgical ablation, something new, open the chest and do ablation. He said it has been in Europe for a year, but only 6 have been done in Pittsburgh. I was wondering about the maze procedure. It sounds like it is pretty successsful. Please let me know if any of you had similar problems to my husband. Thanks
