Nina, I will go along with what Carl said about it may be premature in thinking about your mother needing the Maze procedure.
That will be up to her to decide, depending on her condition, and how she feels about it.
We don't have Dr. Dharan listed yet, but here is a web site of a surgeon in Cal. that does the maze. I am not sure how close to your location he is. He is one of the pioneers that is trying the microwave maze. Click on the link below.
