After 6 years of chronic AF, I have been in NSR for 6 months and am LOVING!!! it. I was on Amiodarone for a month and a half after the Maze and am still on Coumadin but hope to be off that in another month. I am walking 4 miles a day, swim a mile three times a week and throw in a 4 mile run when weather permits. My resting rate is stable at 48, up from a pre AF rate of 30. When I started working out 3 months ago my maximum heart rate was 118 but has improved to the 150's. I should have been lifting light weights immediately after the Maze because I ended up loosing much of my upper body strength and having severe shoulder pain at about 4 months post Maze, I had to see a physical therapist to set things right, but that's behind me now. Having the Maze done was the best decision I made concerning my AF and my only regret is that I didn't have it done sooner.

Best wishes to everyone.

Cyle
