HiFriends:

I need your advise about what to expect in the future.

As you recall, I have performed the Maze operation on 9/13 after 4 years of Chronic Lone Atrial Fibrillation.

The Operation was sucessefull, it restored my regular heart beats and my Eco tests showed my Ejection Factor improved from 45% prior to the operation to 54% after the operation. I have been put on Beta blokers to slow down my hear beat which avereged 100 after the operation.

I decided to go to Mecca with my familly to perform the Hajj two weeks ago. I got so sick after the Hajj that I needed to be hosptalized. Here is what hapened. During the Hajj rituals I suffered a rapid heart beats after an exhausting and sleepless two nights. At that time, I was completely drained physically and emotionally charged. I felt my heart racing on and off for two days. After which my hear beats went back to normal, but I was left very tired. I do not know if my heart beat with fast and regular or fast and irregular durind this period. Any how, I went to the Dhahran Hospital after the Hajj to investigat the cause. I was put on Antibiotics and Oxygen immediatly because I was diagosed with Pronco-Nephmonia. I was also given Losec to get ride off the excess fluid in my lung. Three days later the X ray showed my long was cleared the Nephmonia dissapered. The Lung speialist said that because the symptrm dissappered quickly( in thee days rather than at least a week) the problem is not related to my Lung and it is a heart problem. Additional tests were conduted on my heart. The Eco showed normal Function with the ejection factor improving slightly to 55%. The Holter Monitor showed the expected fast heart rate in the upper 90 to 100. It also showed PACS that avereged once ever hour. My cardiologist stated, the PACS during the Hajj could be the souce of the lung excessive fluid that started my Pronco-Nephmonia. .

Now I am concerned about this happening to me in the future. As I recall, the Maze operation can only cure the irregular heart beats but not the PACS.

Has any one experience similar situation? and What can I do to avoid thing happening in the future?

Thank you.

Ozzi
