Rob, it is impossible for someone to give another person a suggestion on what to do about the maze. I put the maze off for 5 years myself because I didn't think my condition warranted the risk. At the time I opted for the maze I had reached a point where I didn't feel I could live the rest of my life with AF controlling everything I did. At that time I was also in the same frame of mind as Anders. I had no other thought than coming out with a complete cure, which I did.
In 98 when I had my procedure, there was nothing about the possibility of loss of cognitive function. This probably would of given me something to think about, even though only one person on the board thought they might of been effected by this.
I think a positive attitude going in also increases your chances of a positive outcome.
