Tim:

I can only strongly echo the comments made by the others...I had my MAZE at the CC in August of 2000.
At that time, I didn't have the benefit of this board, but got my information from the Georgetown Board on A-FIB, which was managed by Dr. Cox's staff. I have been in NSR since discharge and am now med-free. My life was being controlled by this curse, and getting worse by the month. I had battled a-fib for more than 10 years, and each year the problem got bigger....I felt that the MAZE was the one and only choice for me given the statistics...After years of ER visits, hospital stays and side affects from meds, I wanted to free myself once and for all and went for the highest odds I could find. I am so very greatful for each day of NSR and the fact that I am now (at 56) feeling better than I have in a very long time.

For me, this decision was a 'no brainer'... My impression is that for most who suffer with a-fib, the MAZE is the last stop.

My best to you, whatever your decision.
