Definately! My atrium (or, rather, atriums. pluralis?) was (were?) much enlarged. The Maze resulted in a diminished atrium, which - I'm sure - is a factor when starting to work out again post-op. Whether the atrium will increase in size again or not, I don't know. And I don't know if the enlarged atrium has played a major role in the success of my comeback (i e, would I have been even more successful with a normal, not enlarged, atrium?). Interesting question, but a tough one to answer...I regard myself as successful though (adding a personal perspective), enlarged atrium or not, for all it's worth.
