Jim, I don' know if the following will help or not. Since I am pending the Maze procedure at CC and reading about the lack of CC followup, I sent an e-mail to Cleveland asking about their follow ups. Here is the response I got back. Based on this response I beleive I would be on the phone to Dr. Hammer pressing for an answer or follup apointment. Harley

Thank you for your interest in the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center.

When you have surgery here at the Cleveland Clinic you are assigned a cardiologist who does your follow up care. The surgeon does not do any follow up care unless it would be repeat surgery. Generally, when a patient comes from out of state or out of the country, they are followed by their cardiologist at home once they leave the Clinic. If there are any problems related to your surgery here, your local cardiologist would call the cardiologist who took care of you after your surgery.

Should you have further questions or if I may be of assistance, please call me Toll Free at 1-866-289-6911 - Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time.

I am pending the Maze procedure operation. I have read several comments by people who have had this procedure that their biggest complaint is that there is not even a hint of follow up to see how their patients are doing or offer to help if there are complations. Please advise what your follow up procedures are and how frequently, and who does the follow up.
