Today, I am 6 weeks post maze, and I visited my EP for the great news that I am OFF Rythmol completely and am only taking a small amount of Aldactone,
a diuretic and Coumadin. In 6 weeks, if I have had no AF I will be free of all of
these drugs and I can get back on my bike and try to get back to triathlon shape. My EP said I can start running anytime I feel comfortable.
Like Ed, this is a premature birthday present, since my 60th is on 4/1. I cannot adequately express to those who might be afflicted with AF to the point that depression is your main emotion, how great it feels to be out of AF.
If I am going to suffer some memory loss because of being on a heart/lung machine, I am going be have a SELECTIVE memory loss. I want to forget the debillitation of AF and focus on the future!
Thanks again, Jack for setting up this site. I think we have all been helpful to each other and I will continue to post for the benefit of others who are so afflicted with AF.
