Vicky I am going to try to find the posting you were talking about. I know of no reason why amiodarone would keep anyone from having the maze.
There is a possibility that it might prevent ablation from being completed, as they want your heart fibbing so they can determine the spots that are causing the problem.???
When doing the maze, the have a procedure they go by, and it doesn't make any difference if your heart was in A-Fib or not when you go in for your surgery.
I know some people who have had the maze, were on amiodarone at some time.
If I find out anything more I will let you know.
