In your post to Bob you stated a pacemaker seems like a fair price for a life free of AF symptoms, fear of stroke and/or heart failure. The AV node ablation and pace maker only does one of the above, that is rid you of the symptoms. You will still be in AF and need to take a blood thinner and the chronic AF can still cause damage to the atria.
