Yesterday, I had my 2 moth post op check up. My cardiologist thought that I should have had some adverse symptoms to report, but I had none. I have maintained normal sinus ryhthm since surgery, but now my own SA node is in command of the rate, rather than the pacemaker. I like that.
My cardiologist states that one of the Northwest thorracic surgeons is planning to learn the Maze proceedure and would like to work with Dr. McCarthy at the Cleveland Clinic. He has become enthusiastic about the results of the Maze surgery. Maybe this cardiologist will begin the process of convincing others in his field as to the benifits of this surgery.
